Christmas in July

There was Christmas in the air on our card class night. We had a teacher (Angela) that was a true star. Thanks to her we made two Christmas cards and a bagalope. We were treated to some sweats and hot apple cider and a she even had a table top tree. I can't remember who brought in the candy, but thank you very much. I hope the girls enjoyed themselves as much as Ashley and I did. Thank you Angela.

Tuesday Night Card

I just realized I hadn't posted a card from Tuesday night class in a long time......sorry....Here is one of the cards we did this week and I promise to start posting more in the coming weeks.
For this card we used bashful blue, olive green, ruby red and close to cocoa cardstock. Inks were buckaroo blue, basic black, old olive, and close to cocoa. Stamp sets are Pocket Fun, Paisley Bkgd, and Linen Bkgd. Used the Word Window punch for the belt loops and a black marker for the stitching. Sponged Buckaroo Blue all over as well. We added googly eyes to the frog to give him a little more character. Hope you enjoy it.

E-mail Reply

I received this e-mail tonight from Gisele who was one of the ladies at the Stamp Camp today. Thanks Gisele! Glad you had fun and please send me a pic of your creation and I'll post it on here as I'm sure all the others will want to see it.

Hi Angela,
I am working on making the card holder we made today in a retirement souvenir for my friend Ferne. I have found pictures of her and pasted them here and there and am now typing up those friendship sayings I found in the catalogue to add to it. I was not sure what I was going to do for her gift, this is great, an album and a card holder. I'll pop in sometime at school to show you. Today was great, you have a lot of patience and you were very well organised. Thanks very much:-)

Stamp Class Projects

I really wanted to post my mountable card fronts that I got from Queen B El's swap, but I figured it would spoil the surprise for those who don't have theirs yet and I wouldn't want to do that. I do have to say that they are all REALLY, REALLY beautiful.

These are the projects that we made at the stamp camp today. We began at 9am and started out with the most involved project, THE CARD ORGANIZER. It took us until noon, but the overall results were fabulous, I wish I had taken pictures of all of them as they were all very different. We used Polka Dots & Paisley and Petals & Polka Dots Stamps as well as the Petals & Paisley designer paper and the Petals Stampin' Around wheel. Here is the inside of the organizer. Now I need to get my year organized by putting in the cards I am going to give to people on their special days.

We had a nice potluck of finger foods, devilled eggs, veggies and dips, pitas and dips, egg and ham and cheese sandwiches and a wonderful taco/nacho dip with nacho chips. For dessert, we had a healthy Golden Grahams Crunch, made from cereal and peanuts, that's the healthy part, and covered in white chocolate....OH MY!!! and that's all I'm going to say.

Our next 3 projects were all cards for our organizer (a couple of them were inspired by my mentor and friend Karen ...Thanks Karen!) and the last project was a tea bag pouch (and Queen B El gets that thank you as she gave me one a while ago and I thought it was just too cute, not to share).
I hope everyone enjoyed their day as I really enjoyed having them and now to plan for the next one. HMMMMM....what will we do?

Wednesday NIght Stamp Class

Here are the cards we made on Wednesday night.
The Get Well Card has a flap and the chicken soup bowl is under there with the words AH-CHOO!! The Birthday Card has a glitter window with some doodling and sponging. Click on the picture for a larger more clear view.
Looking for a few more stampers for Wednesday nights at 6:30pm. Just $3 and you get to take home 2 nice cards that you made yourself.

My new classroom will seat 12 comfortably once I get another long table. I will provide the bottomless cup of tea and coffee and you just bring your creative honey. REMEMBER please e-mail me or post to the blog 2 days in advance so I can be sure to have enough materials ready.

Classroom Completed

Well the room finally made reality and was used for the first time today when I held my 1st official STAMP CAMP at the hive. I had 8 wonderful ladies in attendance and most of them new to stamping. Here are a few before class pics.

A GREAT BIG BUSY BEE HUG to The King Worker BEE Bob. Without him we would not have been able to do the class today. Now remember these are the before pictures. No hive is in complete order when you have busy STAMPIN' BEES! Check out my next post later.

And this is just the icing on the cake...One of my ladies today, Sherri, brought me a Congratulations on Your New Classroom gift and a card she had made. See the bowl of candy, well there was chocolate in it but not now, just Werthers, YUM I love those too, but after chocolate! The candle smells so yummy too, and I'll not want to use the napkins as they are too pretty. I can't imagine wiping food and dirt all over something that nice. Thanks Sherri, you are too kind and thoughtful.

The HIVE is Improving

Work on the hive is progressing nicely. Unfortunately, it will not be completely ready for tonight's class but class will go on as scheduled only in my kitchen. Hubby is working hard when he is home, to make the hive a happy place.
These are some of the before pictures and some of hubby hard at work. I guess he will get the title of "King Worker Bee Bob".
Painting is one of King Worker Bee Bob's favorite things to do. I just wish I could get him to do other chores as willingly as he does when I suggest something needs to be painted, but I guess I should be thankful for that, beecuz I do not like the painting chore.
I am really looking forward to my first class at my home and especially to my first Stamp Camp on April 21st. Only 4 spots left for that camp and then I will create a waiting list if need bee.
When the hive is completed I will post the final pictures.
Until then I hope everyone is keeping busy as a bee with all your stamps, paper and inks.

The Hive is Expanding

I am so excited about what I have to share with all you busy bees. I am currently in the process of changing our familyroom, which we don't use anymore since the girls have moved out, into a Stampin' Classroom. I am hoping to be up and running by the end of the month. I will be posting Wednesday evening mini camps as well as Saturday Stamp camps in the next week or so. Please check for the updates.

I will send out an e-mail to those that I have e-mail addresses for, but if you have a friend, relative or neighbor who you think would love to get out to stamp and make new friends please feel free to pass along the information. The more bees in the hive, the busier it will be.

I will be putting in an order the last weekend of the month, so anyone wishing to order can let me know before March 30th.

I had one busy bee send me a couple of sucker covers that she designed and I will be posting these in the next couple of days.

Until my next post, be sure to get in the swap and happy stampin'!

Buzz'n To Get Swaps Done

"Queen B." El has been on the buzz from one swap to the other"s" trying to get them daone and into the mail. This card was made for a one layer swap. After "Queen B." Angela showed me how to do the framing with the linen back ground stamp, I went on the fly with it.. Thanks "Q.B." Angela. I also used my water color crayons and a blender pen with the summer by the sea set. The colors I used and the ink color reminded me of Easter, so I stamped Easter Blessings on it from the set fancy flexible phrases. Hope you like it as much as I do.

"Queen B." El.

I made this for a french script card swap on SCS. I love black and white. I also used tags and more and embossed the flowers with silver embossing powder.

Suckers Anyone

Ok so Queen Bees Angela and Eleanor signed up for this sucker cover swap on SCS.....I was lost at what I was going to do as I do not have very many kiddy stamps..I made 2 different ones before I came up with this today. I am looking for feedback.

The frog is from SU Pocket Fun set. I used very vanilla, pixie pink and green galore cardstock and inks. The frog is stamped in garden green beeeecuz i wanted it darker. I pulled color from the frog using an aqua painter. The little gems on her fingers are from local $1 store. I tinted white grosgrain with pixie pink ink. Think I may add googly eyes??

"Q. B." Swap Up Date

Our "Q.B." Swap, is off to a good start. We have group 1 full and we are loooking to fill group 2. You can do more then one group, but remember that each group that you do must be a different set of cards. Please keep in mind that these are card fronts so the size is different. (5 1/4" X 4 ") So lets get buzz'n, and have fun.

All I see are Polka Dots & Paisley

I have always loved paisley....Remember the prints of the 70's? The bandannas we wore on our heads or the ones our grandfathers carried in their pocket to wipe their noses. I remember paisley curtains, wallpaper, shirts and ties.......and here it comes again.
When I received my Polka Dots & Paisely set from SU, as a Christmas present, another little perk for being a Demo, I sat down and made this card.

I really like to elegant look of black and white. I used some crystal effects on the dots in the black part and black gingham riboon and basic black cardstock and ink as well as wihisper white cardstock and ink. The brads are no name from the $1 store.

A Busy Hive is a Happy Hive

Ohhhhhh....I'm so glad all you Stampin'Bs are joining in Queen B El's swap...looks like the hive will be a busy spot in the next month. I can't wait to see all the cards and yes of couse I will be posting the ones I receive.

Orders can now be placed in the new Spring MIni catty so if any of you B's out there has not placed an order, just give me a Buzzzzzz......I think the Polka Dots & Paisley products are going to be the biggest sellers..........I will post a few of my creations later today, so please check back as I can feel my nectar boiling inside and my creative sweetness waiting to get together with my cardstock, inks and stamps.

The latest buzz is stamping is good for the hive and all the B's in it.

Busy Buzzin' and Stampin',

Cards for Shane

I copied this post from Nicole's Blog at CompuPro Scrapbooking who in turn copied it from another. I just had to pass it on. Now, it says that Nicole will send a group of cards off on March 5th so if anyone can get their sweetness flowing and drop off a card to Nicole at the store or I could drop them to her, that would be great. However, if you feel that March 5th is too soon, I will be glad to send off an envie by March 31st.

Cards for Shane
I read this on Karens Blog / Myleta her Mommas Blog....If you haven't heard about this (it is now on several websites, BT and a radio station) then let me tell you about something we can all do. Here is the radios website http://www.1053kissfm.com/station_info/cartersandraboyle.jspVery Touching indeed!!A little boy age seven named Shane has leukemia and his dying wish is to be in the guiness world book of records for receiving the most birthday cards. His birthday is May 30th but he would like to receive these cards before his birthday.I think we can make this happen for this little boy!!

His address:Shane Bernier PO Box 484 Landcaster, ON K0C 1N0
I encourage all you scappers and card makers to make a card; put a smile on this little guys face and pay it forward. Get your children involved have them make cards!Okay, lets see - how about this - if you would like to drop the cards off at the store I will mail them all off at once. First Mail Out will be Monday March 5th.

Pink and Brown

The colors, Pink and Brown, have become a couple of my favorite colors. On their own they are not my first choices when making a card, but put them together an that just makes my day. From clean cut to shabby chic, they fit into all styles. Here are a couple of samples that we worked on for a swap we are in. Enjoy!

Eleanor created this one using the following supplies:

Stamps: Paisley Background, Very Punny
Cardstock and Inks: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip

Embellishments: Ribbon (NVR)

She and I were both Tickled Pink when she completed it. What do you think?

This is my creation using the following products:

Stamps: Itty Bitty Borders, Warmest Regards, Fresh Fillers

Inks and Cardstock: Pixie Pink, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla
Embellishments: Iridescent Ice, Gingham Ribbon

So does this get your PINK and BROWN honey flowing??

OK, here is your challenge....dig out your pink and brown and send me a picture of your card and I'll post it on our blog.
